At the same time, the Macau casino operator also announced Dr Rui Jose da Cunha’s retirement, who according to SJM, decided not to seek re-election “for the reason of change of his responsibility focus as a result of business growth and diversification of the company and its subsidiaries.” Cunha has reportedly been a longtime adviser of SJM Holdings’ founder and since 2001 has served as a director of Sociedad de Jogos de Macau SA, the Macau entity holding SJM Holdings’ Macau gaming license.
Since 1999, Daisy Ho has served as the deputy managing director and chief financial officer of Shun Tak Holdings. She also is a member of Shun Tak Holdings Limited’s executive committee, remuneration committee, and nomination committee and is a director of a number of its subsidiaries.
According to the casino operator, Ho does not have a fixed term for the newly appointed position but she will be subject to set rules which govern retirement by rotation and re-election at the company’s annual general meeting. In 2017, Ho will receive an annual director’s fee in the amount of HK$0.50 million on pro-rata basis.
