Updated:2024-06-20 15:29 Views:98In South Korea, the operator behind the recently-opened Paradise City integrated casino resort has reportedly announced that the $1.7 billion development welcomed an average of 3,100 daily visitors during its first 100 days of operation.
According to a report from GGRAsia, Seoul-listed Paradise Company Limited additionally declared that its Incheon venue’s 711 rooms posted a 90% occupancy rate during the same period and expects to receive around 1.5 million guests before the end of the year.
South Korea’s largest gambling firm with foreigner-only venues in the cities of Busan, Seogwipo-Si, Incheon, Jeju and Seoul, Paradise Company Limited opened Paradise City in partnership with Japanese pachinko operator Sega Sammy Holdings Incorporated on April 20. The Yeongjong Island scheme sits on a 10.6-acre plot of land next door to Incheon International Airport and features a casino offering 350 slots alongside some 160 live gaming tables.
The news of Paradise City’s success comes less than two weeks before the venue is set to welcome the Asian Poker Tour (APT) and its APT Korea 2017extravaganza. Scheduled to take place from August 12 to 20, this tournament series will feature a $983 buy-in poker main event alongside head-hunter, charity, monster stack, no-limit hold‘em, pot-limit Omaha, deep-stack turbo, high-roller, super deep-stack and pot-limit Omaha high-roller side events.
GGRAsia reported that Paradise City is set to be even bigger early next year after inaugurating a $1.1 billion second phase that will add a further 3.5 million sq ft of entertainment and leisure space along with a boutique hotel.
“The second phase is 55% finished,” GGRAsia quoted an unnamed Paradise Company Limited employee as telling The Chosun Ilbo newspaper.
